Our second drop of Fall ‘23 - the classic M1942 Frogskin camo and its Australian descendant DPNU.

This drop includes Joggers in both patterns and the EDC Mk II Short in Frogskin (our final shorts drop of the year).
Fabrication, measurements, and fit of all items are the same as last week’s Gulf War Bottoms Drop.

FROGSKIN:

This M1942 Frogskin camo pattern differs from our prior releases. Previously, we released a tan dominant variant (beach) and green-dominant variant (jungle), that resembles the patterns on the reversible USMC ponchos used in the Pacific theatre of WWII.

This new version incorporates both tan and green colors in a more balanced pattern that resembles the issued uniforms of the Pacific War, as well as the later Military Advisor “Duck-Hunter Camo” that was used in the early stages of the Vietnam War.

AUSCAM NAVY:

The Australian DPCU (Auscam) pattern is “influenced partly by early US Jungle Camouflage patterns, such as "Duck Hunter"/"Frog-Skin". DPCU was developed following aerial photographs of the Australian terrain to determine which colours and patterns would be most suitable for camouflage uniforms.”

The DPNU variant with blue colors was created for their navy, and provides a nice color contrast in this drop to the ancestral M1942 Frogskin pattern.

Features & Changes of EDC Short Mk II:

Last run of shorts did not have belt loops. This run has 2cm thick belt loops for EDC function.
Last run was constructed of stretch cotton twill. This run is constructed of ripstop stretch, a more durable material that is resistant to tears and better suited to outdoor activities. This material is 97% cotton, 3% spandex.
Last run did not have a fly. This run has a zipper fly with button closure - another feature to help EDC function.

Due to these changes in features, construction, and design, we are naming this style the
EDC Short Mk II. The fit is the same as our previous recent EDC Short runs. If you know your size in those, we recommend ordering the same size in these.

Cargo Joggers are the same as before in construction & fit - ripstop stretch material with YKK zippered cargo pockets, hand pockets, and back pocket.
