Saddam Hussein & Muammar Qaddafi - some call them dictators, others call them pan-Arab nationalists, heroes, torturers, sponsors of terrorism. One thing is for certain.. they were both fashion icons.

These QILO custom watches are based on a very real and interesting piece of esoteric history. Saddam Hussein (and Qaddafi) may have been watch enthusiasts.

Throughout the 1970s and 80s the Iraqis under Saddam had contracted many Swiss watchmakers to emblazon their watch dials with Saddam’s face - or in the case of Longines & Patek Phillipe - with the Iraqi Eagle emblem.

Saddam may have been considered a relatively uncontroversial figure during this period. Indeed, the United States actively supported Iraq under him during the bloody Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s (this occurred after the Islamic Revolution in Iran).

Like many other watches commissioned by Arab states with custom dials (Oman & Qatar come to mind for many), these “Saddam watches” (and Qaddafi watches) were often gifted by these men to military officers, officials, foreign businessmen, and diplomats.

As a team of watch enthusiasts, this appeals to the our personal niche interests of history, global conflict, horology, and self-expression.

During both Gulf Wars, US servicemen wore G-shocks for their inexpensive, reliable durability.

The Summit-X boasts 4 zippered front pockets, 2 non-zippered hand pockets, 1 interior zippered chest pocket, 1 horizontal back cargo pocket.

It is our go-to travel jacket whether flying to a destination or worn on long, multi-day treks - due to its ability to keep all essentials secured and within easy reach.

Our founder Mike personally tested the prototype on an 8-day Patagonia trek in late 2024, keeping all items such as passports, camera, airpods, wallet, keys, phone, snacks, more snacks, an apple, a beer, etc all on-body through a wide range of Patagonian weather conditions including sunny/dry, high wind, and heavy rain which brings us to our next point:

Weather Resistance:

A jack-of-all trades design. Constructed of Nylon 200D stretch-tweave with DWR coating for water resistance.

The built-in mechanical stretch (8% spandex) provides for plenty of mobility and flexibility while the robust tweave excels in durability and field use.

For colder temps, the Summit-X functions as a soft shell outer layer, roomy enough to wear mid-layers and insulate underneath.

For spring/mild temps, it excels standalone and offers wind/sun/rain protection.

LPSPC V2 Plate Carrier

The LPSPC V2 is the evolution of the legacy LPSPC. It builds upon almost ten years of end user feedback and evaluation from global conflict zones and law enforcement. It is designed as a purpose built, extremely minimal, light-weight and rugged plate carrier, that prioritizes user comfort and mobility without sacrificing durability. Every detail is designed with purpose.

Available in ESAPI M and L as well as for standard 10x12 plates.

ESAPI Sizing will also fit Shooter Cut/Swimmer plates. SAPI plates are generally .75" thick. Thicker plates 1" and up are not recommended with use of soft armor plate backers.

New Features:

Bi-lateral built- in reinforced internal comms routing access slits on each side allows for wire routing on the inside of the plate bag. The Front Plate Bag has one in either shoulder and one on either side of the front velcro field. The Rear MOLLE Plate Bag has the same two on the sides and two across the center of the top of the plate bag.
