Blog: QILO x GWA Gen. 3 Citadel Pack in Desert Night Camo

Party like it's 1991.

The DNC (Desert Night Camo) pattern was issued in Operation Desert Storm a.k.a. The Gulf War to U.S. troops as a measure to counter Soviet-era night vision used by the Iraqi forces under Saddam Hussein.

The effectiveness of this pattern under primitive night vision has not been conclusive, but the pattern has taken on a new life as a fashion statement in the 21st century.

We are partnering with GWA to introduce the 3rd generation of the Citadel pack design with this release.

7+ years in the making, GWA has painstakingly prototyped and fielded this design to create the perfect pack.

The Gen. 3 update introduces numerous changes to the Gen. 2 design.

The straps are re-designed to be wider for increased weight distribution, along with the removal of the strap edge binding tape for a cleaner look and more surface area covered by the camo fabric.

The vertical webbing mounted on the strap has also been extended to allow more options for accessories.

New Features:

-Updated shoulder straps, fit and finish

-HDPE framesheet

-Shrink tubing on zipper pulls w/ stronger clip ends

-Accessory tabs in main compartment (clip your hydration bag, keys, etc.)

The laptop sleeve compartment has been internally re-inforced with a hard panel for increased protection.

As always, this bag is made in the U.S.A. with all US-sourced components.

Price is $295, down from $320 on previous drops.
